Ham & Cheese Pinwheels
Description
You will love these great appetizers because they are a crowd pleaser and easy to make. I like to keep ingredients on hand at a party because they can be whipped up quickly if guests stay long or you run out of party food.
Ingredients
1-2 cans crescent dough
Dijon mustard to taste
1 lb sliced ham
1 lb sliced swiss cheese
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp poppy seeds (optional)
Steps
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough into large rectangular sheet.
2. Brush dijon mustard across the entire dough sheet. No need to measure the dijon. Add as much as you like. This really elevates the dish!
3. Cover entire dough and mustard with sliced ham and cheese. Don't overload this so you can roll the rectangle into a roll. Once rolled, gently slice dough using a bread knife or extra sharp knife. Do so, slowly moving back and fourth so the bread wont tear. Place pinwheels on an oil-sprayed cookie sheet.
4. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter. Once warm, add garlic power, parsley, and poppy seeds. Use a basting brush to wipe the tops and sides of the pinwheel rounds.
5. Bake for about 15 minutes or until brown and cooked through the center.
