Grandma's Pie Crust

Description
This is the recipe my grandmother gave me when I was 26. I have had so many people rave over my pies. It wasn't until nearly 20 years later that I discovered that the crust was not her famous recipe! It doesn't matter though. The recipe is delicious and easy! Use with Grandma's Apple Pie Filling.

Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter (softened naturally at room temp)
1/2 cup water

Makes 2 pies

Directions
Step 1: Combine flour and salt.

Step 2: Use a fork and butter knife to cut butter into the flour mixture.

Step 3: Once it is really mixed, add water.

Step 4: Use your hands to roll into 4 sections in the bowl. Put each section into a zipper bag. Flatten inside the bag. Refrigerate for 1-4 hours or freeze later. Each bag is either a top or bottom of a 9 inch pie. If frozen, dethaw in the refrigerator for 2 hours before use.

Step 5: When ready to make, sift flower on to the clean counter. Place dough on surface and roll as desired. Discard flour when done.

Baking Tip: Bake an apple pie at 400 degrees for 30. Remove and spray with oil. Generously sprinkle sugar over the pie (this is very important). Cook for 10 more minutes or until done.
